We’re aware of an issue affecting some customers’ Xfinity Stream service, where Closed Captioning is defaulting to “on” when the app is launched. We’re working to resolve the issue and are planning to implement a permanent fix in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can take the following steps to turn off Closed Captioning.
To do so: Sign in to Netflix on your browser. Select a movie or show. At the bottom-right corner of the screen, hover your cursor over the captions icon. It looks like a little cartoon dialog box. Under Subtitles, select Off to turn closed captions off. To turn them on, select the language you would like.Click the CC icon or select the Setting ( gear icon) button. Select the Captions option. Choose a CC track from the list. Click on the Options to adjust how closed captions appear on your screen.
