Rank 2 let you do a gun All out attack during an ambush while Rank 8 increases it's dmg. Rank 3 can make negotiations easier, Rank 5 let makes guns easier to land debuffs and Rank 10 let Joker ignore gun weakness with his gun (not his Persona nor his allies).
