We've owned our 2018 Max Limited for about 2.5 months, and twice have had the shift knob refuse to move out of park. Now, had this happened in our garage or a parking spot it would've been frustrating enough, but the occurrences have been 1.I definitely noticed this on my 2014 Ram. If you are in a rush and go through the movements as described by Grayman5752 v ery quickly it would stay in "limbo" and show D on the shifter, but still be in neutral. My 2014 Ram 1500 dashboard dial shifter was stuck in park. I turned the dial to drive and the orange/yellow light was flashing on the "D". I also tried reverse and the same thing happened. The only way I was able to get my truck to drive forward was by putting my truck in 4WD Low. The next morning it worked normally.I did search around and got conflicting info on whether the shift linkage is inside or outside the trans housing. Any help is appreciated.
